Longview v25.1 Software Release Notes

This document describes enhancements and changes to Longview version 25.1.

Announcements in Longview 25.1

  • We are pleased to introduce the new Server Manager, which replaces the outdated version. This updated version features a refreshed and modernized user interface, while retaining all existing functionality. The improvements are designed to enhance the overall user experience, making server management more intuitive and efficient.

  • We are excited to announce that the Longview Application Framework now supports new file maintenance commands and functions. These enhancements streamline file maintenance tasks and improve overall functionality.

  • This release also allows users to conveniently access and open Longview Add-in for Office files from the Longview Client.

  • Continuing our focus on performance, we have improved the way Longview executes models with large data areas to make it more efficient. We have also added more optional performance related logging to facilitate further improvements.

  • For our Longview Tax and Pillar Two customers specifically:

    • For our ASC Tax customers, introducing a new ASC 740 effective tax rate reconciliation, with a new alternate account structure in line with the new disclosure requirements, and an Excel-based disclosure template accompanied by an Analysis app to highlight adjustments exceeding the threshold for further disaggregation.

    • The addition of updated Current Tax Account and Tax Account Roll Forward apps/reports allows users to collect and report information for individual regions, where applicable, and also subdivided into up to 5 years.

    • Adding support for the Pillar Two GloBE 3.2.8 Intragroup transactions election.

    • The first phase of attribution of Pillar Two top-up tax has been implemented; where 100% of the top-up tax is attributed to the ultimate parent entity (UPE), if that entity's jurisdiction has a qualified income inclusion rule (QIIR).

insightsoftware continues to focus our efforts on providing the greatest value in our product investment. As part of this effort, we began an initiative in 2020 to deprecate certain features that were legacy in nature and could be replaced with newer components that offered greater functionality and improved user experience.

No additional components are deprecated as part of the current release.
